Antigua and Barbuda joins Member States Observing CARICOM’s 50th Anniversary with 4 July Holiday
(Office of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda) On Tuesday 27th June, Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne was the main speaker at the Flag Raising Ceremony commemorating the 50th Anniversary of CARICOM.
The ceremony took place at the Office of the Prime Minister in St. John’s and was attended by Foreign Affairs Minister, the Hon. E. P. Chet Greene, CARICOM Ambassador, Dr. Clarence Henry, and Members of the Diplomatic Corp [and] members of the Youth Ambassador Corp.

Prime Minister Browne in his remarks noted that CARICOM remains strong while it faces many challenges. He said that there are many accomplishments of which CARICOM should be proud.
CARICOM Day is celebrated on July 4, which was declared a public holiday in Antigua and Barbuda this year in honour of the significant milestone. CARICOM Heads will be in session for their 45th Regular Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago during this period.
