(Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation) As the 50th anniversary date for the 15-member grouping, CARICOM, draws near Barbados has kicked off its local activities to mark the day.

Activities in Member States will be observed under the theme ’50 Years Strong: A Solid Foundation to Build On’.

Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong, says the island will be celebrating the milestone for a whole year.
