COTED, COHSOD Focus on Reducing NCDs
The Region’s non-communicable disease (NCD) burden and the threats posed by excessive consumption of salts, sugars, trans fats and alcohols, will come under scrutiny 19 November, at a joint meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) and the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD).
Stakeholders in trade, health, agriculture, foreign affairs, and the private sector met on Tuesday 29 October, via videoconference anchored at the CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana, to lay the groundwork for the ministerial meeting of the Councils.
Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to CARICOM, His Excellency, Dr. Clarence Henry, chaired the meeting of officials.
