Heads of Government to gather in Dominica for Retreat

Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will retreat to Roseau, Dominica, next month for discussions on key matters including trade barriers, governance and climate financing.

Chair of Conference, the Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica, told the media on Wednesday, that the retreat will take place 18-19 August 2023. His announcement came at the conclusion of the Forty-Fifth Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government which was held in Trinidad and Tobago 3-5 July 2023. The meeting coincided with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Community.

Prime Minister Skerrit said that among the matters the Heads of Government are to address are security, geopolitics, the preparations for the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28), the reform of the international financial architecture and functional cooperation.
