No clear winner in BVI election – BVI News

(BVI News) The counting of ballots for this year’s general elections concluded around 10:30pm on Monday, April 24, 2023, and in the end, no one party had a clear majority.

To win the government, a party has to get at least seven of the total 13 seats up for grabs.

Each of territory’s four main political organisations earned at least one seat. The Virgin Islands Party (VIP) claimed six, the National Democratic Party (NDP) claimed three, the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) also won three, and Progressives United (PU) claimed one.

As is customary, the tallying of the ballots happened inside the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Road Town.
